The HELP MPhil aims to deliver an interdisciplinary education in Business Administration and to enable students to develop in-depth knowledge, expertise and research skills through the application of research to business, entrepreneurship, leadership and management. The research in the MPhil programme is a supervised program; providing an opportunity for students to gain experience in the design, implementation and communication of research contributing to an existing body of knowledge. Students who have completed 1 year of the MPhil programme also have the opportunity to progress into the PhD pathway; subject to further assessment.

This is a research-based MPhil programme. Candidate is required to conduct independent research under an academic supervisor/supervisory committee, complete the dissertation of approximately 35, 000 words and orally defend his/her thesis in a proposal defense and attend a viva voce.

Other Requirement: Student to complete the required research methodology course and any other courses as determined by the supervisor no later than 6 months after enrolment and to be ready to present and defend his/her proposal and the final thesis to a thesis committee. The candidate will be awarded the MPhil degree upon the successful viva voce (oral examination) of the thesis

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business or related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent from HELP University or a recognised university; or
  • A Bachelor’s degree with CGPA of 2.50 and above but less than 2.75 or equivalent from HELP University or a recognised university are subject to approval by the Dean of the School in consultation with the Academic Programme Director;
  • Other qualifications equivalent to a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years working experience in a relevant field that is subject to rigorous internal assessment acceptable by the Senate;
  • Students are also expected to submit a preliminary research proposal as part of the application and undergo a personal interview with a faculty member.
  • International applicants are required to fulfil a minimum score of 6.0 for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or the equivalent.

Students’ application will be assessed to determine their eligibility. The area of research should be within the School’s research focus with suitable supervision and resources provided.
