The University of Achievers

Formerly known as HELP Institute and HELP University College, HELP University is a distinguished private university situated in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Established on April 1, 1986, by its Chancellor, Datuk Dr Paul Chan Tuck Hoong, and his spouse, Datin Chan-Low Kam Yoke, HELP has garnered recognition both nationally and internationally for its commitment to excellence in education.

Recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia, HELP Institute attained University College status in 2004, followed by full university status in 2011.

The acronym “HELP” stands for Higher Education Learning Philosophy.

In its initial years, HELP Institute made history as the first institution outside the United Kingdom to offer the University of London External Programme’s Diploma in Economics.

Over time, HELP University pioneered twinning programmes, allowing students to complete portions of their studies domestically before transferring to partner universities abroad for degree completion.

With a robust network of partnerships spanning the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, Indonesia, Vietnam, China, and Europe, HELP University provides students with diverse opportunities for global academic enrichment.

HELP University, HELP Academy, and several of their subsidiaries share a common corporate logo featuring two hands: one extended in assistance, symbolizing a helping hand reaching out to support the other.

HELP University boasts two campuses, located in Damansara Heights, Kuala Lumpur, and Subang Bestari, Shah Alam, Selangor.

The Subang 2 campus, inaugurated in April 2016, is renowned for its innovative design, earning accolades such as the IFLA Asia Pacific Awards 2019 and the Malaysia Landscape Architecture Awards MLAA 2018.

Comprising six academic faculties, a Graduate School, a Centre for Continuing Professional Development, and an Institute for Crime and Criminology, HELP University offers a diverse range of programmes catering to various academic interests and career aspirations.

In addition to its academic endeavors, HELP Academy, a sister company of HELP University, collaborates with partner universities to offer twinning programs and its own certificate and diploma programs.

Notable alumni from HELP University have excelled in diverse fields, including media and entertainment, sports, and academia. Their achievements underscore HELP’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering success.
