Programme Overview
International students who wish to join the course are required to sit for the Oxford Online English Placement Test. The placement test which adopts the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) will accurately show the student’s level of proficiency in the English Language according to the CEFR banding. This helps to ensure that students are placed at the right proficiency level in order to obtain the necessary training for MUET.

Malaysian students who wish to join the MPC could do so by producing their CEFR band obtained for their 1119 English Exam in the SPM.

The course, MPC is designed to equip students with the necessary test-taking skills required for MUET. This course will cover listening, writing, reading, and speaking strategies that will help them to score for MUET. There are two parts of this course, Part I and Part II.
Part 1 (4 weeks)
- Introduction to MUET (Exam structure and components)
- Reading, writing, listening & speaking skills (proficiency enhancement activities)
- Reading, writing, listening & speaking (test-taking skills mastery activities)
- Assessments: Mock MUET tests for all skills will be carried out. Students will be advised on their strengths and weaknesses based on their results of the mock tests.
Part 2 (4 weeks)
- Mock Tests Drills
- Feedback and Discussions
The MPC will cover all the components in the MUET. There are four language components to focus on.
- Listening
Focuses on various oral texts including lectures, briefings, talks, telephone conversations, instructions, documentaries and advertisements.
2. Reading
Focuses on comprehension of texts of various length and complexity and from different genres, including articles from journals and magazines.
3. Speaking
Focuses on the ability to do presentations and take part in group discussions on contemporary issues.
4. Writing
Focuses on various types of texts and rhetorical styles.

Continuous assessment will be conducted to monitor students’ progress to facilitate the preparatory process and to provide constructive feedback. Assessment would include the following mock tests:
