Overview

The Master of Education in Teaching and Learning is designed to enhance professional competence, deepen educational knowledge and expand career opportunities for educators and professionals involved in teaching, training and learning development.

The programme equips learners with knowledge, skills and digital competencies to make teaching and learning more effective, engaging and responsive to contemporary educational needs.

It recognises education as a broad and evolving field shaped by culture, society, history, policy and practice. Students will explore educational philosophies, values, literacy traditions, policies, regulations, systems and teaching practices that influence educational settings.

Through the flexibility of ODL, learners can pursue postgraduate education while balancing professional and personal commitments. The integration of educational technology and digital learning prepares graduates to contribute meaningfully to twenty-first-century education.

Programme Overview

  • Course Admission Criteria:

    • Applicants must fulfil one of the following: • A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Level 6 MQF, with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 or its equivalent as accepted by the HEP Senate; or
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Education with a minimum CGPA of 2.50, subject to rigorous internal assessment; or
    • A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.50, subject to prerequisite courses; or
    • A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.50, subject to rigorous internal assessment and prerequisite courses; or • Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government.

    Applicants must achieve MUET or any English competency test equivalent to CEFR Low B1.

  • English Competency Requirement for International Students:

  • Applicants with a foreign bachelor’s degree must achieve an IELTS score of 5.5 or an equivalent qualification, in addition to a GPA of 2.5. Applicants with a bachelor’s degree in a discipline other than Education with less than one year of teaching experience are required to complete a bridging programme.
