Overview

The Master of Cyber Law is designed to meet the growing demand for legal professionals and related practitioners who can navigate the complex and rapidly changing digital landscape. Delivered through ODL, the programme provides a flexible study pathway for working professionals, legal practitioners, government officers, corporate executives and international learners who wish to pursue advanced legal education without being limited by location or fixed study schedules. Students may choose from two delivery options. The conventional semester-based mode delivers courses over 14-week semesters across three semesters each academic year. The modular mode delivers courses through five block sessions, with each module offered over an intensive 8-week period.

Both pathways cover the same academic content and learning outcomes and lead to the same qualification, allowing students to select the study format that best fits their personal and professional commitments.

Location: Wisma CL, Damansara Heights

Course Requirement and Duration:
Students are required to complete 10 coursework subjects, including a project paper. The programme may be completed through either:

  • Conventional semester-based mode, offered across three 14-week semesters per year; or
  • Modular mode, offered through five block sessions with each module delivered over 8 weeks.

Full-time: Minimum 1 year, maximum 3 years
Part-time: Minimum 2 years, maximum 5 years

Assessment:
Continuous assessment: 50% to 80%, subject to variation as approved by the Academic Board

Final assessment: 20% to 50%, subject to variation as approved by the Academic Board

Applicants must fulfil one of the following:

  • Entry Requirements

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Law or Shariah with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00, or an equivalent qualification accepted by the HEP Senate; or
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Law or Shariah with a CGPA below 2.50 out of 4.00, or an equivalent qualification, subject to a minimum of five years of working experience.

  • English Competency Requirement for International Students

    • International students must achieve a minimum of MUET Band 4, TOEFL score of 600, online TOEFL score of 100, IELTS 6.0 or an equivalent qualification.
