Overview

the Diploma in Early Childhood Education (DECE) qualifies and certifies the Educator-Carer and gives them the necessary personal and professional identity when working with children, families and community. The DECE programme provides:

  • A balanced preparation for work in any early childhood setting as a result of the 8-week workplace practicum and empirical-based course and fieldwork.
  • Strong social and psychological understanding of the child
  • Training to facilitates the successful development of the Educator-Carer.
  • Promotes the creativity and talents of Educator-Carers across Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) settings and scenarios, such as in arts, music, drama and constructions.

Programme Overview 

You will need to fulfill one of these entry requirements to join the programme.

  • Entry Requirements

    1. Possess Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with a minimum of THREE credits in any subject or its equivalent;
    2. A pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum of Grade C (GP 2.0) in any subject or its equivalent;
    3. A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Maqbul;
    4. A certificate (Level 3, MQF) in any qualification with at least a CGPA of 2.00;
    5. A pass in SKM/SVM Level 3, MQF in Early Child Care / Preschool;
    6. Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian government as equivalent to the above requirements.

    English Competency Requirement (International Student)

    Test (MUET) or any English competency test equivalent to a Low B1 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
