KUALA LUMPUR, 11 August 2025 – The Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) celebrated excellence in higher education at the prestigious MQA Awards 2025, held at the Hotel Renaissance Kuala Lumpur. Among the evening’s most notable honourees was Prof. Dr. Liew Teik Kooi (Dr. Andy), Vice Chancellor of HELP University, who was recognised for his dedication and meaningful contribution as an MQA Reference Expert.
The award, inscribed with the citation “Atas Dedikasi Dan Sumbangan Bermakna Sebagai Pakar Rujuk MQA Dalam Memperkukuh Jaminan Kualiti Pendidikan Tinggi” (For Dedication and Meaningful Contribution as an MQA Reference Expert in Strengthening the Quality Assurance of Higher Education), acknowledges Prof. Dr. Liew’s instrumental role in enhancing Malaysia’s higher education quality assurance ecosystem.

He has been pivotal in the formulation of quality assurance frameworks that now underpin Malaysia’s recognition in global higher education rankings.
In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Liew said:
“I am deeply honoured to receive this award. This recognition would not have been possible without the trust placed in me by MQA and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the national quality assurance agenda. At its core, quality assurance is built upon the principles of shared responsibility, continuous quality improvement (CQI), transparent communication, and the disciplined implementation of well-documented processes.”
This award serves as a powerful endorsement of HELP University’s leadership in quality assurance and academic innovation, as well as Prof. Dr. Liew’s commitment to higher education in Malaysia.
