On a bright and breezy Saturday morning, 30 energetic HELP University students, alongside one very committed club advisor, traded their weekend plans for gloves, garbage bags, and good old-fashioned teamwork. Their mission? To roll up their sleeves and make a real difference at the PATAMHUSC x HUSRC x ProjekWaste Beach Cleanup Program, held at the scenic shores of Pantai Remis, Kuala Selangor.
Armed with determination (and lots of sunscreen), the team sprang into action. In just 1 hour and 39 minutes, they managed to collect an impressive 711 pieces of litter, haul away a total of 40 pounds of waste, and clean up an entire mile of coastline. What a way to spend a morning!

This beach cleanup wasn’t just about picking up trash — it was about protecting our beautiful coastlines, standing up for marine life, and showing that even small actions can create big waves of change. The collaboration between PATAMHUSC, HUSRC, and ProjekWaste turned a simple day out into an inspiring movement, proving that when passionate people come together, the results are nothing short of amazing.

More than just ticking boxes, the cleanup proudly supported several of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. By reducing pollution and restoring coastal areas, the team took bold steps towards Climate Action (SDG 13), safeguarded marine ecosystems for Life Below Water (SDG 14), contributed to a healthier environment for Life on Land (SDG 15), and showed the true power of Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).
HELP University could not be prouder of these young changemakers, who chose to spend their day making a tangible difference. Huge thanks go out to every student who showed up with heart, to our steadfast club advisor, and to our incredible partners at ProjekWaste who made this effort possible.

At HELP, we believe that change starts with small, determined steps — and sometimes, with sandy shoes and smiling faces. Together, we’re not just cleaning beaches; we’re building a future that’s cleaner, greener, and brighter for everyone.
Stay tuned for more student-led initiatives that continue to make a splash for sustainability. Until then, we’re riding the wave of change — and we’re just getting started!
