HELP University held an impactful online Zoom meeting titled “HELPing Earth: Why We Care For Mother Earth. How We HELP,” which focused on brainstorming innovative ideas to support the Earth through sustainable food production, effective agriculture management, and the promotion of human rights. The event brought together a diverse group of esteemed speakers and participants, highlighting the university’s commitment to environmental sustainability and social responsibility.

The talk was graced by the presence of several distinguished personalities, including Datuk Professor Dr. Paul Chan, Chancellor of HELP University, who provided opening remarks and emphasised the importance of collective action in addressing environmental challenges. Dr. Eva Latham, Founder and President of Human Rights Teaching International, The Hague, shared her insights on the intersection of human rights and environmental stewardship, underscoring the need for policies that protect both people and the planet.

Kamarul A. Muhammad, Founder and Group CEO of Aerodyne Group, discussed the role of technology and innovation in modern agriculture. He highlighted how drones and other advanced technologies can optimize farming practices, reduce waste, and increase crop yields, thereby contributing to sustainable food production.

Dr. Ting Ho, Chief Executive Officer of Global Agro Innovation (HK) Limited, Hong Kong, and Founder of Back in Nature Sdn Bhd Malaysia, provided valuable perspectives on agro-innovation and sustainable agriculture. He spoke about the importance of adopting environmentally friendly farming techniques and the potential of urban agriculture to feed growing populations.

Professor Manickam Ravichandran, Chief Scientific Officer of ALPS Group, shared his expertise on scientific advancements in agriculture. His talk focused on how biotechnology and research can lead to more resilient crops and better resource management, ensuring food security in the face of climate change.

Neil Foo Seck Chyn, CEO of Bukit Jalil Global Acquisition 1 Ltd and Chief Strategist of NCT Smart Industrial Park, discussed the strategic role of industrial parks in promoting sustainable practices. He emphasised the need for integrating green technologies and sustainable infrastructure in industrial development to minimize environmental impact.

The meeting was an interactive platform where participants, including students, faculty members, and industry professionals, engaged in meaningful discussions. They brainstormed various strategies to enhance sustainable practices in food production and agriculture, and explored how these practices could be aligned with human rights initiatives.
