Kuala Lumpur, Thursday, 20 February 2020 – YB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Member of Parliament and President of the People’s Justice Party (PKR) will be speaking today at HELP University’s Symposium entitled “The Construct of a Nation: As I See It.”

HELP University is pleased to continue its series on The Conversation on National Issues in which leading thought leaders and influential people are invited to share their thoughts and insights on Malaysia’s national issues. This symposium featuring Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim is HELP University’s third event in the conversation series.

The Conversation on National Issues, which was launched in January last year, is part of HELP University’s community engagement  to create a platform for speakers, lecturers, students, and members of the public to share their ideas, visions, and concerns of a better Malaysia. The last two events held last year were very successful and well attended.

“We are honoured that Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim will be speaking at our event, to share with us his vision of Malaysia. Malaysians and investors are interested to know Dato’ Seri Anwar’s views on global and Malaysian issues during these challenging times,” says Datuk Professor Dr Paul Chan, Vice-Chancellor and President of HELP University.

There was an overwhelming response to this event with many people wanting to attend it.  Guests from the government, embassies, non-governmental organisations, commercial associations, and members of the public and students were invited to attend the symposium.

“It’s important for an academic institution to play a meaningful role and to contribute constructive ideas to help the government and the nation. This type of sharing and discourse is a useful platform and a great opportunity for the university’s students and the public to share their views,” says Datuk Paul Chan. “We have other events in the pipeline for The Conversation on National Issues as there is a growing interest among Malaysians in matters that affect their well-being .”
