A pivotal step in bridging academia with industry, HELP University’s IT Student Council (ITSC) recently facilitated a highly successful Industrial Study Visit to PayNet on July 11, 2025. This exclusive opportunity immersed 41 students and a lecturer from the Faculty of Computing and Digital Technology (FCDT) into Malaysia’s dynamic digital payments ecosystem.
The visit began with a guided walkthrough of PayNet’s headquarters at Mid Valley City. Participants explored PayNet’s state-of-the-art facilities, including their Immersive Wall and office environment, setting the stage for a day of learning and interaction.
The session was officially opened with a warm welcome and insightful opening remarks by Dr. Endry Lim, Chief of Staff at PayNet. This was followed by a series of informative sessions, including comprehensive presentations that explored PayNet’s past, present, and future in shaping Malaysia’s payment landscape. Students gained invaluable insights from a dedicated data sharing session by their Data Lake team, and a highlight was the insightful panel discussion, ‘Transitioning from Campus to Career’, which offered practical guidance on navigating the financial technology industry.
The panel featured experienced young associates from PayNet who shared valuable career advice and personal experiences on entering the financial technology industry. The visit concluded with a sharing session on career opportunities at PayNet, followed by networking and lunch, where students were able to engage directly with industry experts.
This event would not have been possible without the support and close coordination with PayNet’s Talent Management & Development team, led by Ms. Chew Ann Jee, and with special thanks to Mr. Muiz, whose effort and collaboration made the visit seamless and impactful.
This landmark Industrial Study Visit to PayNet unequivocally underscores ITSC and FCDT’s unwavering commitment to bridging the gap between academic theory and real-world industry demands. By fostering such invaluable connections, HELP University continues to inspire and equip the next generation of tech professionals for a successful future in the dynamic digital landscape.
