HELP University has partnered with TGC Marketing Sdn Bhd in a groundbreaking collaboration to create a vibrant esports ecosystem for students. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed by Prof. Dr. Liew Teik Kooi (Andy), Vice-Chancellor of HELP University, and Adrian Gaffor, CEO of TGC Marketing, marks the start of a dynamic venture integrating esports into academic and extracurricular activities.

United by a shared vision, HELP University and TGC Marketing aim to provide students with meaningful opportunities in the thriving esports industry. This partnership seeks to foster both recreational and professional growth through esports, enhancing the university’s offerings and delivering a unique learning experience.

A key initiative of the collaboration is the establishment of an Esports Lab at HELP University’s campuses. This dedicated space will serve as a hub for students to develop critical skills, such as strategic thinking, teamwork, digital communication, and problem-solving through esports. All these are essential in today’s digital economy.  Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the lab will support students in honing their analytical abilities and leadership potential, preparing them for careers in esports management, digital media, and related fields.

Another highlight of the partnership is the launch of a specialised Esports Education Program tailored for students interested in the business aspects of esports, such as management, marketing, and operations. Through a combination of courses, workshops, and seminars, the program will equip students with the expertise needed to thrive in the rapidly growing esports industry.

The collaboration will also feature esports tournaments hosted on campus, providing students with hands-on experience in managing and participating in competitive gaming events. These tournaments will not only showcase student talent but also promote essential event management and organisational skills while building a vibrant esports culture within the university.

This landmark collaboration is expected to open new avenues for students to explore careers in the esports industry. Professor Andy expressed enthusiasm about the initiative, stating, “This partnership is a major step in integrating esports into higher education, bridging academics with industry opportunities. Esports extends beyond gaming, encompassing business, marketing, and digital media, fields that require strategy, innovation, and critical thinking. HELP University is excited about the transformative impact this initiative will have on students and the future of esports education”

Adrian Gaffor, CEO of TGC Marketing, shared a similar sentiment, saying, “We’re proud to partner with HELP University to create an environment where students can thrive in esports. This collaboration empowers students with the skills needed for success in their future careers.”

With this partnership, HELP University is taking a bold step in integrating esports into its educational framework, reaffirming its commitment to providing innovative and career-oriented programs that align with the needs and interests of today’s students.
