9fin collaboration

On 17 March 2026, HELP University welcomed representatives from 9fin to its Subang Bestari Campus for an insightful engagement session co-hosted by the Faculty of Business, Economics & Accounting (FBEA) and CAREERsense@HELP.

The visit brought together industry leaders, faculty members, and students for meaningful conversations centred on analytics, finance, and evolving career pathways. FBEA students actively participated in discussions, sharing thoughtful perspectives on industry trends, skill demands, and their professional aspirations in the financial sector.

The session also provided a valuable platform for academic and industry representatives to explore potential collaborations. Discussions involving Dr Calvin Cheong, Dr Monica Selvaraja, and other faculty members focused on strengthening industry–academia linkages, with an emphasis on creating new venture opportunities and enhancing graduate employability in Malaysia.

As a global financial data and analytics company serving institutional credit markets, 9fin shared its plans to establish a Data Operations Hub in Kuala Lumpur. The initiative is expected to begin with an initial intake of 40 to 50 associates, with strong potential for future expansion—highlighting promising career opportunities for local graduates.

The visit was further enriched by the presence of 9fin’s Chief Operating Officer, Jen Speirs, and Linda Robb, Head of Data Operations, whose time in Kuala Lumpur reflects the company’s commitment to understanding Malaysia’s talent ecosystem. Such engagements mark an important step towards building long-term partnerships that support talent development and create meaningful career pathways for students.

This collaboration underscores HELP University’s continued commitment to bridging academia and industry, ensuring that students are well-prepared to thrive in a rapidly evolving global workforce.
