Over 1300 secondary school students from around Klang Valley attended the Digital Horizons 2023 event at HELP University Subang 2 campus on 14 June 2023. The event was organised by HELP University’s Faculty of Computing and Digital Technology to showcase the vast possibilities of technology while providing students with insights into future career opportunities.
The event featured several interactive and informative sessions such as a panel discussion with industry professionals on the latest trends in technology, a hands-on workshop on assembling drones, and a pitching competition for students to showcase their ideas for mobile apps and digital services that incorporate ChatGPT.
“I believe this event will serve as a platform to ignite our curiosity, explore emerging trends, and ignite our curiosity about the transformative power of IT,” said YB Dato’ Ramanan Ramakrishnan. “This provides a unique networking opportunity to connect with industry professions, potential mentors, and fellow tech enthusiasts.”
“The knowledge and connections gained here can shape future career advancements and open doors to exciting opportunities,” he said.
“We hope that the students would think about the future in technology and a future here at HELP University,” said HELP University Chief Executive Officer Dr. Goh Chee Leong.
HELP University Chancellor Datuk Paul Chan encouraged participants to learn more about the fast-changing digital landscape.
“This helps students to be more employable and mobile,” he said.
The event was a great success, and the feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive. Many students said that they had learned a lot about the latest trends in technology and that they were inspired to pursue a career in IT.
Digital Horizons 2023 was a valuable opportunity for secondary school students to learn more about the latest trends in technology and explore future career opportunities. The event succeeded in attracting students from secondary schools in the Klang Valley area and student are looking forward for similar events in the future.
