Professor Dr R Logeswaran

Professor Dr. R. Logeswaran is the Dean of Computing and Digital Technology at HELP University, Malaysia. He is also an Adjunct Professor with Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science and Technology, India, as well as Visiting Professor of GND Engineering College, Bidar. An academic with over 25 years of experience, he has provided leadership at several prior institutions, including as a pioneer staff member of Multimedia University, Malaysia where he also served as the Acting Dean and Deputy Dean (Operations & Student Affairs) of Engineering, and Deputy Dean of Postgraduate Studies. At the Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU), he contributed significantly as the Dean of Graduate Studies, Head of the Asia Pacific Centre for Analytics (APCA) and Professor of Computing and Engineering. Other notable leadership roles include as Dean of Engineering, Science and Technology at Nilai University, and Dean of Information Technology at City University. 

Graduating with BEng (Hons) Computing from the University of London, with an Associateship of City and Guilds (ACGI) at Imperial College London, United Kingdom, Professor Dr. R. Logeswaran completed his Masters and PhD at Multimedia University, Malaysia, and post-doctoral research in Seoul, Korea. His research interests are in image processing, data compression, artificial intelligence and data science, with over 180 publications in books, peer-reviewed journals and international conference proceedings. he has been a recipient of a number of scholarships and awards, including from Telekom Malaysia, Jaffnese Cooperative Society, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Brain Gain Malaysia, Brain Korea21 and medal for long and commendable service from the Malaysian government. 

Professor Dr. R. Logeswaran is a Senior Member of the IEEE and the immediate Past Chair of the award-winning IEEE Signal Processing Society Malaysia Chapter. He actively serves as a Keynote speaker, Guest of Honour, Invited Speaker and Panel Speaker at many international conferences, and has co-organised numerous international conferences too, including the recent IEEE flagship International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP 2023). Additionally, he actively volunteers as a judge in STEM and innovation competitions for schools at the local and international levels. His other notable contributions include serving at several vaccination centres during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown and involvement in Malaysia Book of Records events.
