Professor Dr. Fan Yanbin

Prof. Dr. Yanbin Fan holds a PhD in Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering from Technische Universität Berlin, Germany, as well as a Master’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Aircraft Engine Design from Northwestern Polytechnical University, China. He currently serves as President and Professor at Nanchang Institute of Technology and has held the position of Visiting Professor at Fachhochschule Südwestfalen, Germany, since 2004. With more than three decades of experience in higher education, Professor Fan has made significant contributions to university teaching, research, and postgraduate supervision.

His teaching and academic expertise encompasses Applied Programming, Deep Learning for Computer Vision, and Advanced Machine Learning. His research interests span machine vision, digital image processing, virtual reality, intelligent manufacturing, and applied artificial intelligence. To date, he has published more than 50 academic papers and holds 12 granted invention patents, reflecting his sustained contributions to research and technological innovation.

Prof. Dr. Fan is also strongly committed to the integration of industry and education. His academic and professional approach emphasises the incorporation of real-world engineering challenges into teaching and research, thereby providing students with opportunities to develop practical competencies and enhance their readiness for professional practice and industrial applications.
