Presley Jairom
Presley serves as a tutor at the Department of Psychology, conducting tutorial classes on scientific and academic writing, quantitative research methods, and biopsychology. Additionally, he volunteers as a research assistant for various internal and external projects, exploring topics such as cross-cultural mental health literacy, unmet needs in caregivers of cancer patients, and neuropsychological functioning in individuals with brain-tumor related epilepsy.
In his community involvement, Presley has administered psychological first aid through the child-dedicated mental health helpline, Buddy Bear. Here, he offers psychosocial and emotional support to children and teenagers dealing with peer relationships, neglect, and abuse, as well as crisis management for suicidal and homicidal ideations.
Presley has a strong academic record, having received the MARA Scholarship in 2014, followed by the HELP Merit Scholarship in 2018, and nominations for international governmental funding in 2022. Graduating with First-Class Honors from HELP University in 2019, Presley aspires to pursue a scientist-practitioner career in Clinical Neuropsychology, aiming to enhance the quality of life for patients and caregivers with neurological conditions. He is eager to provide support and guidance to students in achieving their personal aspirations and welcomes opportunities to connect.
