Ms. Charuni Rathnayake

Lecture

Charuni Rathnayake is an experienced educator with over six years of experience in early childhood and higher education. Currently serving as a lecturer and program leader for the Diploma in Early Childhood Education at the Department of Education, HELP University, she is dedicated to designing and delivering engaging curricula that cater to diverse learning needs. Her expertise spans in-person, online, and hybrid teaching modalities, with a strong focus on inclusive education and innovative instructional strategies.

Charuni’s professional journey includes lecturing at Prospect Academy, Sri Lanka, and serving as a lecturer and DECE program coordinator at Lincoln University College, Malaysia. In these roles, she developed comprehensive course materials for early childhood education, collaborated on educational projects, mentored students, took on an advisory role in the ECE student council, and actively contributed to organizing international education conferences at Lincoln University. Her practical experience in early childhood education also includes internships at esteemed preschools such as Kitakids Preschool and Nature Kids in Malaysia.

Her research interests focus on instructional design and educational technology in early childhood education. She is particularly interested in exploring EdTech applications, including Artificial Intelligence, to enhance young children’s learning experiences and improve teaching methodologies. 

Charuni holds a Master of Education (Teaching and Learning) and a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education) from HELP University. She is preparing to pursue a PhD in Early Childhood Education soon. Charuni is committed to nurturing a new generation of educators by blending academic knowledge, practical experience, and innovative approaches to early childhood education.
