Dr. Khor Khai Ling
Dr. Khor Khai Ling is Acting Head of Department and Senior Lecturer in Psychology at HELP University. She specialises in cognitive psychology, with a focus on cognitive functioning in everyday life and healthy cognitive ageing. Her research examines the role of dietary factors, particularly carotenoids, in visual and cognitive decline in ageing, with emphasis on memory, attention, executive functioning, and macular pigment.
She holds a PhD in Medical Science from Sunway University and is a registered counsellor with the Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia (LKM). She is also a member of the Society for Applied Research in Memory and Cognition (SARMAC), reflecting her active engagement with the cognitive science research community.
Prior to academia, Dr. Khor worked in social work in hospital, supporting individuals and families facing medical and psychological challenges. This experience informs her applied, empathetic, and student-centred approach to teaching and research.
