Dr. Sharmila Thinagar
Dr. Sharmila Thinagar is a dedicated and accomplished academician with a background in economics. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, where she specialized in Monetary Economics for her Master’s degree. She also obtained a Bachelor of Business Management with Honors from the University of Sunderland. With a solid academic foundation, she has established herself as a Lecturer and Programme Leader for the Faculty of Business, Economics, and Accounting Bachelor of Economics at HELP University.
Her research interests and field of expertise encompass a wide range of topics, including macroeconomics, socioeconomics of B40, development economics, business economics, global business and economics, and digital economics. Her contributions to the field include publications on crude palm oil price forecasting and equity returns volatility. With a keen interest in addressing societal challenges, particularly in the context of poverty measurement and economic growth, Dr. Thinagar continues to make significant strides in the academic realm, shaping the minds of future economists and contributing valuable insights to the field of economics.
