Deputy Dean & Head of Department

Dr. Liew Huey Min has spent over 15 years in higher education, building strong academic teams and creating meaningful learning experiences for students. Prior to joining academia, she worked for nearly a decade in Malaysia’s top public-listed property companies, gaining solid experience in marketing, corporate finance, and organizational management. This industry background gave her a practical edge when transitioning into teaching and academic leadership.

She currently serves as the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Business, Economics, and Accounting at HELP University. In addition, she heads the Accounting and Finance Department and leads the Quality Assurance Unit. Her work focuses on improving teaching outcomes, supporting staff development, and ensuring programmes meet both national and international standards. She is passionate about creating inclusive, high-quality education that aligns with the university’s mission.

Beyond her university roles, Dr. Liew is a Panel Assessor for the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and an External Examiner for Methodist College Kuala Lumpur. She has led programme audits and validation exercises, and helped develop new programmes such as the Bachelor of Business Analytics (Hons), which is now fully accredited. She is also a Certified Quality Assurance Officer and an HRDC-accredited trainer.

International collaboration is central to her work. She has established articulation agreements and academic partnerships with institutions in China, including Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, and DongBei University of Finance & Economics. These initiatives have expanded HELP University’s global footprint and enriched student learning experiences.

Dr. Liew also enjoys mentoring students beyond the classroom. Over the years, she has coached student teams to victories in prestigious competitions at the national, regional, and international levels. These include the CPA Australia–KPMG Case Competition, CIMB ASEAN Stock Challenge, EY Young Tax Professional Award, and the Maybank GO Ahead Challenge, among others. Supporting students in these achievements remains one of the most rewarding aspects of her career.

At the heart of her work is a strong belief in academic integrity, teamwork, and continuous improvement. She is always looking for ways to solve challenges, build meaningful relationships, and contribute to the growth of her institution.
