Dr Lee Teck Heang
Dr. Lee Teck Heang currently holds the esteemed position of Associate Professor at HELP University in Malaysia. Before embarking on his academic journey, he garnered invaluable experience through roles with two auditing firms. Dr. Lee’s academic achievements include the attainment of a doctoral degree from the University of South Australia, alongside an Honours Degree in Accounting from the University of Kent at Canterbury in the United Kingdom and a Master’s Degree in Commerce (Accounting) from Charles Sturt University in Australia. He was also a certified practicing accountant and shared his profound knowledge in accounting, auditing, and taxation with both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
His primary research interests center around auditing, the employability of accounting graduates, and the research productivity of accounting academics. Dr. Lee’s exceptional contributions to these areas have earned him prestigious recognition, including two notable awards: the Doctoral Scholar Award in 2008 from the International Graduate School of Business at the University of South Australia, in recognition of his research publication on the Audit Expectation Gap in Malaysia, and the MIA Articles of Merit Award on Public Accountants in Business in 2012 for his article titled “Creative Accounting Practices: Big Players’ Game?”
Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Lee has successfully secured more than 10 research grants from esteemed institutions, such as HELP University, Monash University, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, and the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia. His extensive body of work comprises over 80 articles published in both national and international academic journals, in addition to contributions to newspapers and professional magazines. He has also shared his profound insights at numerous international conferences in Malaysia and abroad, while also serving as a respected reviewer for various academic journals, further solidifying his notable presence within the academic community.
