Dr. Harry Manley
Dr. Manley has a BSc in Psychology from the University of Manchester, an MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience from University College London and obtained his PhD from Bangor University in 2016 examining individual differences in performance under pressure. Dr. Harry Mandley is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at HELP University since 2022, before moving to HELP he was a lecturer in the Faculty of Psychology at Chulalongkorn University (Thailand) from 2016-2022. Dr. Manley’s main research interest concerns the pursuit of status, and he employs mixed methods and carefully designed experiments in his approach to study this. Dr. Manley also has a strong interest in open science practices and metascience research, studying how researchers can do the best science possible. Dr. Manley is also a proponent of big team science approaches and has been involved in several multisite collaborations. Dr. Manley’s teaching prioritises students being active participants in the learning process, and he encourages students to direct their focus towards learning, engagement, and deep understanding, rather than on grade attainment. His lectures embrace innovative practices and incorporate a wide range of demonstrations, exercises, discussions, and experiments. He teaches courses on cognitive psychology, social psychology, social cognition, sports psychology, data analytics, and research methods.
