Akmal Hafiz Bin Abu Bakar
Akmal Hafiz Bin Abu Bakar is Program Leader and Senior Lecturer at HELP University, bringing more than 15 years of academic and industry experience in hospitality and tourism management. He began his career in the foodservice industry, progressing from restaurant supervisor to manager before transitioning into academia, where he has held leadership roles at SEGi College Subang Jaya, Innovative International College, and Malaysian Academics & Skills Advancement College.
Akmal holds a Master’s in Hospitality Management and is currently pursuing his PhD in Hotel and Tourism Management at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), reflecting his dedication to advancing research and knowledge in the field. His expertise spans Accommodation operations, food and beverage service, research methodology, business ethics, and halal industry practices. He has contributed extensively to academic policy development, ISO 9001:2015 quality audits, and digital learning enhancement projects, ensuring high standards of education and operational excellence.
Beyond teaching, Akmal is deeply committed to student mentorship, professional development, and community engagement. He has led outreach programs with underserved communities, authored articles highlighting institutional achievements, and designed initiatives to strengthen student leadership and career readiness. Passionate about bridging academic theory with practical industry insights, Akmal continues to inspire excellence in hospitality education while shaping future leaders in the field.
