
On Saturday, September 20, 2025, our Damansara Campus was buzzing with excitement as we had the pleasure of hosting a group of enthusiastic students from SMJK Sam Tet, Ipoh, Perak. The visit was organised with the aim of giving them a firsthand look into the vibrant world of hospitality and life at our university.
The day began at 8:30 AM when the students arrived, their faces full of curiosity, shining with excitement and anticipation. They were warmly welcomed and settled into the comfortable setting of the Damansara campus, ELM Graduate Lounge, where the day’s events would unfold.
We kicked off the programmes we have planned at 9:00 AM with an insightful product briefing led by our senior lecturer/ programme leader from Hospitality, En. Muhamad Syahir. He shared his expertise, offering an engaging and concise overview of the industry. Subsequently, another lecturer/ programme leader, Mr. Teh Wee Leon took the stage for an energetic showcase introduction, setting a lively mood for the activities for the rest of the morning.

The real highlight of the day came with the much-anticipated mocktail demonstrations. Our talented students, Howard, Gobinath, and Leon, captivated the visiting students from SMJK Sam Tet with their creativity and flair. Each demonstrated their unique mixology skills, crafting vibrant and delicious mocktails that showcased the art and enjoyment of hospitality. The students from SMJK Sam Tet watched in awe, experiencing firsthand the practical skills they can gain here.
The excitement continued with a fun and interactive student activity session. This segment was all about hands-on engagement, encouraging the students to mingle, collaborate, and share a few laughs. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to connect with our students and get a true feel for the welcoming campus environment.

Our staff and students ensured that the secondary school students got a feel of campus life. A comprehensive guided campus tour treated them to a glimpse of our state-of-the-art facilities, classrooms, and vibrant student life. The tour was followed by a well-deserved and excellent lunch, where the students had an opportunity to relax and reflect on their discovery-rich morning.
At 1:00 PM, the students concluded their visit and began their journey back to Ipoh. They left with new knowledge about the hospitality industry, great memories, and perhaps a newfound passion for a future in this field. We were thrilled to have them and look forward to welcoming more students to our campus in the future!
