
Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and HELP University have finalized a Supplemental Letter of Award (SLOA), cementing HELP University’s status as a Premier Digital Tech Institution (PDTI). The formal acceptance of this supplemental award, signed by both parties, reinforces the commitment to developing a world-class digital talent pipeline in Malaysia.
This renewed designation covers the Faculty of Computing and Digital Technology and the Faculty of Business, Economics and Accounting.
As a PDTI, HELP University is committed to several key initiatives aimed at bolstering Malaysia’s digital future:
- Industry Collaboration: Strengthening partnerships through projects like Micro-credentials Development, Joint Research, and Work-based Learning programmes.
- Digital Career Readiness: Establishing and enhancing a specialized digital career centre to facilitate job placement, internships, and essential skills training for students.
- Curriculum Relevance: Consulting with MDEC’s Talent Expert Network (TEN) to ensure all digital technology programmes and courses remain relevant to current industry needs.
MDEC, as part of its commitment to nurturing Malaysia’s digital talent ecosystem, will provide robust support to HELP University in its capacity as a Premier Digital Tech Institution (PDTI). This active collaboration includes promoting the university to potential students, industry partners, and key stakeholders.
Furthermore, MDEC will play a crucial role in Facilitating Industry Exposure by coordinating participation for students and academic members in activities such as Micro-credentials Development, Joint Research, and Work-based Learning Programmes. MDEC is also responsible for coordinating reviews of the university’s digital technology courses by its Talent Expert Network (TEN) to ensure relevance to the industry.
