HELP University Hosts 23rd Annual Strategy Seminar Addressing the Challenges and Opportunities in ESG

Kuala Lumpur, Saturday, 4 May 2024 – HELP University is proud to announce its upcoming Strategy Seminar slated to discuss the pivotal role of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles in shaping the future of business and societal development. The event will bring together thought leaders, policymakers, industry experts, and academics to foster dialogue, share insights, and catalyse collaborative solutions towards a more sustainable future.

The Strategy Seminar entitled “ESG Challenges and Opportunities” will serve as a platform for raising awareness about the significance of ESG principles in driving sustainable business practices and societal progress. It will feature discussions on pressing environmental challenges such as climate change, waste management, and biodiversity loss, alongside explorations of sustainable solutions.

Moreover, the event will examine social responsibilities, emphasizing the importance of labour rights, diversity, community engagement, and consumer protection in fostering inclusive growth. Governance will also be under the spotlight, stressing the critical need for ethical leadership, transparency, and accountability, with cybersecurity emerging as a pivotal component in ensuring organisational integrity.

The conference will offer attendees networking opportunities and collaboration avenues to bridge academia, industry, and policy-making spheres, facilitating the exchange of ideas and the development of sustainable innovations. Expert insights into national policymaking and sector-specific challenges will be provided, accompanied by case studies and strategies from various industries. Discussions will also explore the role of technology, particularly the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI), in advancing ESG goals, with a special emphasis on the importance of cybersecurity in safeguarding organizational integrity.

“Incorporating cybersecurity into the ESG strategy not only mitigates risks but also demonstrates an organization’s commitment to comprehensive sustainability and responsible business practices,” added Professor Datuk Dr Paul Chan. “By fostering partnerships among universities, industries, governments, and other stakeholders, we can collectively enhance our impact on ESG initiatives and drive positive change.”

HELP University is also collaborating with Quest Corp Group to offer Professional Certificates in ESG focussing on the 5Ps: Purpose, People, Productivity, Profitability, and Positioning.
