Dr Kristine Anthony

Dr Kristine Anthony obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Nottingham Malaysia in 2020 and subsequently completed her PhD in Psychology at the same institution in 2025. After completing her doctorate degree, she started as a Lecturer in Psychology at HELP University Subang 2. 

Dr Anthony’s research interests mainly lie in discovering the cognitive mechanisms underlying autobiographical memory retrieval. Her work explores whether key dimensions of memory, such as memory accuracy, are related and whether these dimensions are shaped by additive genetics and environmental factors. She has also investigated whether within-subject differences observed during memory recall are caused by increasing the load on retrieval mechanisms, such as visual imagery and working memory, using a dual-task paradigm. Apart from research on everyday autobiographical memory, Dr Anthony has also developed an interest in the mechanisms underlying recovered memories, specifically the Forgot-It-All-Along (FIA) effect. 

Her findings have been published in leading peer-reviewed journals, such as Memory, Quarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology (QJEP), and Topics in Cognitive Science, and have been presented at both local and international conferences. She is also an active member of the Society for Applied Research in Memory and Cognition (SARMAC).
