Rachel Tee Shao Yen
Pre-school Teacher at Junior Champs in Kuala Lumpur, with a bilingual curriculum that incorporates the framework of Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) of the British National curriculum and the most current and advanced global practices in early childhood education.
Commenced the HELP University Masters in Counselling postgraduate programme in January 2019 under HELP President’s Full Scholarship Award.
Completed HELP Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and graduated in 2018 with 1st Class Honours.
Studied at SMK Convent Green Lane, Georgetown, Penang for the SPM, then completed WACE (Western Australian Certificate of Education) in 2013.
“My journey at HELP throughout the 3 years’ course has been pleasant, exciting and rewarding. The lecturers were not only mentors who nurtured my potential as an early childhood educator but they were like our friends whmo we could confide in and who spurred us on to achieve success in all we did. The lectures were fresh and fun and at the same time intriguing and challenging – there was always something new to learn. They are also very diligent and wroked hard to mould us into excellent and quality educators that we strivde to be. While the was at times heavy, it definitely equipped us with for wholesome and insightful ECE”.
Seeing the joy on the children’s faces while I was teaching during my practicum was what I enjoyed most of the ECE programme. That encouraged and gave me great confidene to move ahead in this field”.

Aung Myint, from Myanmar, is completing his final year of the HELP University BEducation-TESL programme, achieving a CGPA of 2.97 for the course up to his last semester and awaiting the results of his practicum, due to be released in May 2019 and is expected to graduate, thereafter.
He completed his Diploma in Education at St Aloysius Gonzaga Institute of Higher Studies (SAG-IHS), and also undertook his University of Distance Education (UDE) in psychology in Myanmar before taking the option for BEducation-TESL studies at HELP. He was informed of HELP University through a priest who is a director of SAG-IHS and through Mrs Rosemary Chong, director of “A Call To Serve”, a faith-inspired local NGO and Senior Manager of the HELP Exam Centre, Mary Ann Chin.
Aung Myint arrived in Malaysia in June 2015, after succeeding in obtaining the HELP CEO Bursary Award full scholarship totaling RM 75,820, that also covers administration charges and the cost of his English Language proficiency training.
Aung Myint believes that the learning journey is priceless, and with education, anyone from Myanmar or anywhere else, especially the young, has good potential to be a role model for society and contribute to the nation. He intends to teach in due course at SAG-IHS where he studied.
Audrey Koh Sui Ean
From the East Malaysian State of Sabah, Audrey Koh, graduated with the HELP University Master of Education (Teaching and Learning) with Distinction in 2019, that she completed under HELP Bursary Award of 50% of course fees.

Audrey Koh believes in championing equity in education, especially for underprivileged children.
Lacie Loay Lay Shi
From the state of Penang, Lacie Loay is an EYFS Practitioner at GEMS International School in Petaling Jaya. GEMS International School, which has another school in Penang, is a member of COBIS, the premier global association for international British schools overseas. EYFS or Early Years Foundation Stage is defined in the British Government’s Childcare Act, and comprises a set of welfare and learning and development requirements for providers of care for children under five years old.
Completed HELP University Bachelor of Early Childhood Education degree programme and graduated in 2017.
Studied at SMK Mutiara Impian, Penang, for her SPM and STPM.
“My learning experience at HELP University has shaped me into the educator I am today. The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education progarmme taught me about developing appropriate practice and the use of positive behaviour management skills when working with young learners. The programme also exposed me to creative ways of preparing materials. This has helped me as a teacher to mke my lessons fun and engaging. My lecturers at the Department of Education have always inspired me with their continual support and encouragement. They made me believe that I can make a difference in the lives of children under my care”.
Eunice Goh Cheng Mei
Eunice is from Kuala Lumpur and is Principal of Hansel & Gretel Child Development & Education Centre, Lecturer at Methodist College, Kuala Lumpur, and Advisor to the Early Childhood Education Students’ Club of HELP University. Hansel & Gretel has been providing excellent learning and care environment for children from infancy to Kindergarten for over 50 years since the 1960s.
Completed the HELP University Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (ECE) under the HELP Distinction Scholarship Award for Year 1 and the Kencana Scholarship for Year 2 and Year 3, and graduated in 2015 with 2nd Class (Upper) Honours.
Obtained the Diploma in ECE from the Methodist College Kuala Lumpur scoring very good grades: 5 As and 6 Bs.
“The HELP BECE not only nurtured me to become a qualified ECE teacher and care provider, it also trained me to be able to also perform management and multi-tasking roles as an educator. I have developed the confidence to organise ECE programmes, ECE events, exhibitions, concerts, library resources and book fairs for children and teenagers. My passion is in the planning and running children’s camps and activities that enrich the learning experiences of young children”.
