Overview

IT programmes at HELP University are designed to equip students with up-to-date expertise in corporate information systems, internet and interactive media, mobile communications technologies, computer systems and networking, and software engineering. Students gain the technical knowledge and skills to succeed in the demanding Information Technology industry.

The Diploma in Information Technology encompasses a thorough grounding in the fundamental skills and a theoretical understanding of IT. Students will be exposed to JAVA programming, VB.net, HTML, J2ME, Java Scripting as well as networking and business communication. Lifelong learning skills are integrated into the Level One units with emphasis on critical thinking skills and personal excellence. They are also taught communication and personal skills to enable them to interact effectively in the demanding workforce.

You will need to fulfill one of these entry requirements to join the programme.

  • Entry Requirements

    1. Possess SPM with at least THREE (3) credits in any subjects (inclusive of Mathematics or anyequivalent qualification); OR
    2. A pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum grade of C [Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) 2.00] in any subject or equivalent qualification and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent;OR
    3. A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Maqbul (Pass) and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent; OR
    4. Possess SKM Level 3 and a credit inMathematics at SPM level or its equivalent; OR
    5. A Certificate (Level 3, MQF) in any qualificationwith at least a CGPA of 2.00; OR
    6. A pass in any qualification equivalent tocertificate (Level 3, MQF); OR
    7. Other relevant & equivalent qualificationsrecognised by the Malaysian Government.

     

    Notes:

        • Candidates with a pass in Mathematics at an SPM level or its equivalent may be admitted if the certificate programme contains subjects in Mathematics that are equivalent to Mathematics at SPM level.
        • Candidates with a pass in Mathematics at SPM level and without a related certificate need to take a reinforcement Mathematics subject with appropriate topics in the discipline of Computing at the beginning of the study.
        • Candidate with a credit in a Computing-related subject at SPM level or its equivalent may be given preferential consideration.
