Arunn Suntharalingam

“What stood out to me about HELP University amongst the other private universities was its emphasis for a comprehensive education curriculum and its staff of conscientious lecturers. Other private universities may have had flashier campuses but the rigorous educational experience offered at HELP University led me to choose it. But what stood out to me about HELP in the large amount of trust the administrations puts in me while choosing the number of subjects I wished to take. Unlike other universities I engaged with, HELP didn’t seek to curb my ardor for learning but rather bolstered it. With this trust, I managed to broaden my scope of knowledge to my choosing. With this, I became more comfortable challenging myself as opposed to settling for mediocrity. This coupled with the active engagement I had in liberal arts classes, led to an extremely rewarding college experience at HELP.”

Completed HELP University BBus (International Business) from 2014 to 2016 under HELP Merit Scholarship, and transferred to UWE.

Studied at SMK Bandar Sri Damansara (2), Petaling Jaya.

“I chose to pursue my studies in Bachelor of Business (International Business) at HELP because I was keen to learn different business practices/cultures around the world, which would enhance my management and leadership competence, useful for my career in the future.

I have found new interest in Entrepreneurship. I have been taking electives in this discipline at UWE for the benefit of both knowledge and for finding inspiration from this area of study.

“As I am still a student, I may not be able to provide the best advice but I do recommend students to take electives that are different from what their interests used to be in. Such new electives will broaden their knowledge and likely to develop greater learning in many other areas of study. And by doing so, they are likely to embrace the future with greater opportunities and widen their ambition with more rewarding options than if they continue with study areas they were familiar in”.

“I studied Hospitality Management for my degree. It makes me understand more of business from a management perspective. It is never easy to be a part of the management team for a hotel’s operation. For the time being, I have chosen Sales Training for my career and it is opening up my mind to greater opportunities and hopefully, a rewarding career in the near future.

I am now gaining experience not only in marketing and sales, but more importantly in leadership that would strengthen my competence and confidence that could be useful for management roles in other growth industries such as hospitality and tourism that I have the right formal qualification for and that I still have great interest in.

“Before pursuing my credit transfer to UQ for the final year of my studies, HELP was the right and crucial place to nurture my passion of craving for knowledge. Despite undergoing the ups and downs in my first 2 years at HELP, thankfully, my life was interspersed with dedicated lecturers who inspired me to strive and I thrived throughout this hardship. Those pains and gains had resulted with returns for the benefit of a promising career future. So the wisdom from the experience is that there are gains from all that happens, including struggles in life, and the price one pays would usually result in benefits.
