HELP University is proud to have participated as a strategic partner in the MQA International Conference 2024, held at the Sheraton Kuching Hotel, Sarawak, Malaysia, from 11-13 November 2024. The event brought together leading experts in quality assurance from international bodies, providing an exceptional platform to discuss and improve the global landscape of higher education. We are deeply honoured to have been part of such a significant event that contributed to the global efforts to enhance the quality of higher education.
The conference was designed to foster meaningful discussions on the future of education, focusing on the key challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. With the theme “GLOBAL QUALITY HIGHER EDUCATION,” the event provided a space for institutions, industries, policymakers, and students to collaborate and explore ways to address current and future talent requirements. The sessions covered a wide range of topics, from the changing educational landscape and collaborative partnerships to the adoption of adaptive technology and the employability of graduates in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). These discussions were critical in understanding how education can evolve to meet the demands of a rapidly changing world.
On the first day of the conference, our Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Liew Teik Kooi (Andy), had the privilege of leading the first sharing session as one of the strategic partners. This session highlighted our institution’s commitment to enhancing educational quality through innovative collaborations and industry engagement. Later in the day, Prof Andy moderated the second session on Collaborative Partnerships. This session featured an esteemed group of panelists, including Prof Ir. Dr. Khairul Salleh bin Mohamed Sabri, Professor Dr. Daniela Cristina Ghitulica, Mr. Brian Stokes, Professor Mori Rie, and Professor Dr. Ahmad Hata bin Rasit. Together, they explored the evolving landscape of education and how universities can adapt to meet new challenges.
The topics covered during the session were diverse and thought-provoking. One discussion, titled “Adapting to Change,” analysed the impact of shifting educational landscapes on learner engagement and performance, particularly in the context of the International Nuclear Science and Technology Academy (INSTA) Executive Programme for Educators. Another presentation, “Driving Excellence through Strategic Quality Management,” shared best practices for enhancing quality assurance processes at Universiti Malaya. Additionally, the panel discussed strategies for converting Technology Management Programs from COPPA to COPTPA standards to achieve better alignment with industry needs. A final session titled “Changing the Educational Landscape” focused on a new Competency and Microcredential Framework for Global Public Accountants, highlighting the growing importance of micro-credentials in modern education.
Being part of the MQA International Conference 2024 allowed HELP University to play an active role in these important conversations. The conference highlighted the need for collaboration between higher education institutions and industry stakeholders to ensure that education systems remain adaptable, relevant, and future-ready. At HELP University, we understand the importance of these collaborations in shaping a higher education system that meets the demands of both students and the global workforce.
Our participation in the conference is a testament to our commitment to delivering high-quality education that is globally competitive. As we move forward, HELP University will continue to work closely with international partners to foster collaborations that enhance the quality of education and prepare our students for success in an increasingly complex and interconnected world.
We are excited to continue our role as a key partner in driving the global conversation on the future of higher education, and we look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead in shaping a more innovative, inclusive, and sustainable education system for the future.
